I have had a pretty bad week so far and decided to have some fun. I have been spending time on the Holodeck but had some issues getting it to work, as well as trying to use the ‘Flyby’ feature. I tried to avoid most reviews because I didn’t want to get overwhelmed or have a negative view of the game. I was pleasantly surprised at the visuals and how they played, but that’s not what I’m here to review, just how it played.The first thing I noticed about the game was that it had a rather low resolution compared to other games that were released recently. It felt like the pixel size on the font was smaller than other games. I decided to test out the font size and noticed that some areas of the game had bigger pixel size then the rest.In some areas of the game it was almost like a game from 1999 and that’s not what I wanted to experience, I was expecting something more modern and fresh. I finally noticed that the font size on the text was set to an extremely small size, which made the text hard to read. In some areas it’s hard to read, in other areas it was impossible. They could have just said that the game is in development and added a hint. This issue was gone when I tested it out on a new PC, as well as on a different router. I eventually got the game working.After you launch the game it appears as a normal window. This may not be what you were expecting because this is your first impression of the game. You can interact with it using a microphone and a keyboard. The game only has keyboard controls so you don’t need to mic it up and hope that the voices do not corrupt the game. While the voice-to-text and text-to-voice work great. The microphone controls also work great, but you have to wait a few seconds before they work properly. You can’t keep them pressed down, you have to let go and let them work for a few seconds.After you load the game you can fly around in space and do some jumping around.
