Can nullable Foreign Keys be used to store a reference to a row in another table?

I’m working on a project that will be storing users, groups, and “assignments” of users to groups.
Assignment table has columns: assignmentID, groupID, userID, and assignmentType.
I’d like to have a relationship between assignment table and user table where userID is a foreign key to the user table and groupID is a foreign key to the group table.
GroupID and UserID are both nullable (using database standard NOT NULL) in the Assignment table.
The issue is that I’m building a new site that has grown to more than 100,000 users, each user is assigned to 5 different groups.
In order to minimize the growing number of associations I’m thinking about having a column in user table that will store a copy of the groupID for the group to which the user is assigned.
This will make it possible to remove the user from the group without deleting it and if the user is removed from a group it will only delete its “copy” in the user table and not the group.
Is this approach right?
What’s wrong with it?

I would also add a groupUserID column to the Assignment table. With this, you can have nulls for UserId and GroupId, then UserId and GroupId can be PKs from the assignment table, with the restriction that user id can’t be null.
This all could be achieved with LINQ, but you might see a bit of refactoring on this.

What’s New In Photoshop 2020?

Once upon a time—like, a very long time ago—there was a little princess, and that princess was named Hatshepsut. She was the only female pharaoh in Egyptian history, and she ruled for 25 years.

But Hatshepsut was more than just a regal figurehead in ancient Egypt: she was a badass warrior.

1. Hatshepsut’s name was the only one that her body could take: she was a high-ranking priestess and head of the royal harem.

2. She played a vital role in her father’s success and ultimately his death.

3. She defended the Nile and was a known sea rival to King Osorkon of Sidon, a territory on the Mediterranean coast.

4. Hatshepsut spent six years building a temple for her father on the Nile Delta, an elaborate structure that would later become the site of a monastery that is still partially intact.

5. One of her names was “King’s Daughter, King’s Wife, King’s Mother,” meaning that she was more than a little bit badass.

6. She’s the only female pharaoh in Egyptian history, which makes her one of the first women of power to come out of ancient history.

7. Her story is told in “The Tale of Sinuhe,” an epic, non-fiction account that was written in the first half of the 19th century B.C. (Is that ancient enough?) by A.F. Wildung.

8. Her royal court had many exceptional artists and craftsman, and her reign was a pinnacle in Egyptian art and architectural history.

9. She has a memorial temple in Luxor, Egypt.

10. One of her public officials was a man named Prta-nakht, who was her chief advisor and her chief royal steward.

11. She claimed to be a woman in every way that mattered, and she had five royal wives.

12. Like other Egyptians, Hatshepsut didn’t trust foreigners, so she raided the coastal city of Nubia, where she killed its king. Nubia is now called modern day Sudan.

13. The first year that she was on the throne, she sent a letter to the Pharaoh of the Hittites requesting assistance against the Egyptian ruler
